Some wise words from a successful IELTS student

One of my students sent me this message last Friday:

“Hi Berni, I have a happy news for you. All credit goes to you. Got it finally. Listening: 7  Reading : 7.5 Writing : 7.5  Speaking : 7”

passing-ielts-with-band-7I disagreed with the comment about ‘all credit goes to you’ which was very flattering but not really true. All credit actually goes to the student an all the hard work and effort that went into this awesome result. As a teacher I can only stand close and give support and encouragement.

My student then wrote a very encouraging post on our private Facebook group for all his fellow IELTS students and gave some very sound advice.

I want to share this with you in this article. Remember these are not my words, they are the words of someone who has taken on the struggle with IELTS, persevered, taken all my advice, kept going and was determined and has now achieved an awesome result and is on his way to a new future.

All congratulations must go to him and his will not to give up but to keep taking the steps. I could not be happier to share this with you as this is what I really want for all of you and I know that you also can achieve this if you follow the same journey.

Wise Words:

“Dear All,

Here is one more success story but this time it is mine. I am happy to share with you all this good news that I have achieved my goal finally in my 6th attempt. Yes, I have got the required IELTS score. Following are the Details,
Listening – 7 ; Reading – 7.5 ; Writing – 7.5 ; Speaking – 7 & Over All – 7.5

First of all I should definitely thank our beloved teacher Berni who has given me tremendous support on my preparation. She has helped me in evaluating my Writing even after my Course modules completed. “Hats off” to your care with me, my dear best teacher Berni Wall.

She has introduced me to worldwide friends who have really helped with my speaking module. Though I haven’t met them in person, you are all my very good friends. Yes it’s you Sophia, Fariba, Thomas, Zahra. Thanks a lot for your wonderful support. Never forget you people at any case.

Based on my experience in IELTS preparation I should say the following things which may help you all.

(1) Instead of wasting time better enroll for a Course with Berni as a teacher to direct you in the right track to achieve your goal soon.

(2) Get you work evaluated rather that beating around the same bush without any progress

(3) Pay equal importance to all four modules while preparing.

(4) Never give up. I have taken 6 times to reach my goal. This may inspire you to get some confidence in you.

Good Luck to you all!!!

Once again, thank you very much Berni. Hope to stay in touch with you.”
