How many times will you take the IELTS exam?

I spoke to an IELTS student a few weeks ago and he told me that he had taken the exam 25 times. I was shocked and also very sad because it doesn’t need to be this way.

I speak to many students who have taken the exam over and over and not achieved the high band 7 and 8 that they want to move on with their lives.

I work with students every day who have their life on hold because they have to get IELTS band 7 or 7.5 or even 8 and sometimes in each part. This is not an easy thing to do but with the right help it is possible.

Mary had taken the exam 10 times when she contacted me. She needed band 7 in each part and band 7.5 overall to work as a doctor in the UK. She even had job offers in her specialism!!  No matter what she did she just couldn’t crack the IELTS reading – it was just stuck at band 6/6.5. Her writing also fluctuated from 6.5 to band 7. She was so very frustrated and time went on and still she was turning down job after job.

We worked together for just 3 weeks – she needed 3 things:

  • More focused practice
  • Better strategies
  • More confidence – this was really key

On the 11th attempt she achieved the score she needed (and amazingly the reading which had ALWAYS eluded her was an unbelievable band 8.5!!) and is now happily working in a hospital in the UK with a new job and a new and exciting life for her family.

And she is not alone. I know many IELTS students who have struggled for months and even years with IELTS and not achieved the band score they wanted. And these students, like many others were stuck:

  • They couldn’t continue with their career
  • They couldn’t follow their dream
  • They didn’t know how to change the situation

But I DO KNOW how to change the situation. If you feel like these students, if you’ve lost hope of getting the exam and moving on with your life then I know exactly how to help you.

Getting the right support for your IELTS is the fastest way of getting through the exam and on to the life you have dreamed of for you and your family.

Doing it all by yourself will take a long time and you may face many disappointments before you achieve your success if you ever do. Indeed many IELTS students decide to give up.

Please don’t be one of those students.

Be like Mary and others who have been supported and are now enjoying the life that they want.

I have worked with IELTS students who want bands 7 and 8 for over 20 years and not only that, I was an IELTS examiner for several years so I know exactly how to make sure that you can perform well in the exam and I can help you change your IELTS practice to produce the language you need to be successful in your IELTS.
